Practice Summary

Matthew Montoya joined Gibson Robb & Lindh in 2021. Mr. Montoya handles a variety of maritime and land-based cargo subrogation, workers' compensation subrogation, insurance defense, and maritime personal injury defense matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Montoya worked as an attorney at a preeminent defense firm in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he represented employers and insurance carriers for claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and Louisiana Workers' Compensation Act.


Mr. Montoya obtained his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Arizona, and his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.

While in law school, Mr. Montoya interned as a law clerk at the Office of the Alameda County Public Defender and studied abroad at the University of Vienna in Vienna, Austria.
